Mindful Soap Natural Liquid Soap Review and Giveaway

A while back (it feels like a million years ago), I had a little internet retail store selling natural bodycare products.  l loved selling great quality, handmade products–and of course knowing that everything I used passed muster with the EWG’s skin deep rating system.  It was always a challenge, however, to find natural liquid soap that was up to my standards.  So I was really excited when Trisha of Mindful Soap sent me some natural liquid soap samples and offered a giveaway.

While I was learning all about natural products, an interesting sideline was hearing the backstory of the artisan vendors.  Often there was a specific, heartfelt reason they got into the business–from wanting a granddaughter to have a safer nail polish to helping a child cope with eczema. Trisha began making soap as an outgrowth of her son’s autism treatment.  Part of his therapy involved the use of essential oils and she wanted to extend the use of the oils into more of his life.

Most people don’t realize how important it is to use soap scented with essential oils rather than synthetic fragrances.  Besides a usually nicer, more natural smell, you don’t need to worry about essential oils containing phthalates (possible carcinogens  and endocrine disruptors linked to reproductive development problems) which may be lurking in the synthetics.  And did you know that sometimes even “unscented” soaps have synthetic masking agents to hide the scent of the soap oils?

In addition to skipping some added chemicals in the fragrance (not to mention colors, preservatives and thickeners), natural soaps retain the glycerin which is the moisturizing part of soap.  Commercial manufacturers may remove this valuable commodity, then sell it for profit.

Natural Liquid Soap – Mojito Scent

Trisha sent me three bottles of her natural liquid soap in Lavender Rosemary, Mojito and Pink Grapefruit scents.  The soaps were silky smooth, lathered nicely and smelled great.    The pink grapefruit was my favorite, with a citrus brightness and sweet undertones.  The Lavender Rosemary (did you know lavender is relaxing?) would be perfect for bedtime and the Mojito had a fresh summery mintiness with a subtle lime afterglow.   In addition to the liquid soaps, Mindful Soap sells goat milk body cream and (really pretty) handcrafted bar soaps.

    Hi Inger,
WOW! Looks like this give-away is quite popular:)

When my daughter was combating her breast cancer, essential oils were of the upmost importance for so many things. She used them to stimulate her appetite, ward off the hot sweats and numerous other things. After she recovered successfully, she swore off any soaps or other bathroom products that were not up to the standards she expected. I have heard of essential oils being used quite successfully with autism also. I will have to tell Michele about this company and it’s products. She buys all her oils from doTerra and has switched to Dr. Bronners products too but I will be sure and tell her you give tha A-Okay for Mindful Soaps. Thank you so much for sharing your opinion, Inger. I really appreciate it and will be saving this post:)

If I were to choose a fragrance, it would be the Rosemary Lavender. They are two of my very best favorite scents and garden plants too, lol…Thanks again, Inger…

I love lavender; however the Pink Grapefruit sounds awesome. Pink Grapefruit please.

I love and follow Art of Natural Living on Facebook. In fact, again, I would like to thank Inger as I won the tea giveaway from the Art of Natural living giveaway!

My nice “Tricia” (close to Trisha), is very concerned about the anti-bacterial soaps for her children. There is an ingredent called Triclosan that she does not like in it. I am going to check out the Mindful Soap Co. as I think this is much more to her liking.

I would really love to try these soaps. I would most like to try the black velvet bar soap and the lavender rosemary liquid soap. The black velvet has me very intrigued. I’ve been using a charcoal infused soap for my face lately and really like it so would really like to try this one as love natural soaps as they don’t irritate my sensitive skin and love that they are free from the chemicals and all the other additives that many store bought soaps contain. Also my step daughter has psoriasis so I’m always looking for stuff that will help her condition or at the least, not aggravate it further. I think these soaps would work great for her and she loves lavender so If I win I’ll be choosing the lavender liquid one for her. Very interested in trying these out as they sound really great. Thanks for the Chance to win
