Tis the season to be… frantically busy. Okay, most of us don’t even need holidays for that. So, I was excited to receive a promotional shipment of a quick and tasty product like Gold’n Plump Chicken Shakers. And so was my husband (more on that later).
Never heard of Chicken Shakers? It is a new product that I would describe as “gourmet chicken tenders.” Tender, quality breast meat topped with spiced bread crumbs (I am the first person to go “eeeuuuww” over untrimmed meat). Fresh, almost no work and cooks in just 15 minutes.
Recently I dragged took my husband on a “slight detour” to see Lake Michigan lighthouses on a trip “up north.” I was trying to get some pictures for my photography class. In the end “more or less on the way” turned a 2 ½ hour drive into a 6-hour marathon. But we did see some lovely sights…
When we arrived “up north” we were extra tired and hungry–and our favorite restaurant was closed. So I brought out my new Gold’n Plump Chicken Shakers. 20 minutes later (the extra 5 minutes was for my broccoli) there was a delicious, hearty lunch on the table.
There wasn’t even a prep dish to wash! It goes like this:
You open the outer package (envelope) which has an inner packet of prepared meat (real chicken breast, cut up, no skin or bones–remember, no eeuuww) and another packet of seasoned bread crumbs.
You open these two packets, drop them in the outer envelope, seal it back up and shake and massage to get the meat coated.
You put the bread crumb covered chicken on a baking sheet (I suggest something with sides like a jelly roll pan or a cake pan to avoid any escapees, ahem) and bake for 13-15 minutes until they reach 165F.
The next day, the leftover chicken went on slider buns for a lunch that was even easier!
Gold’n Plump shakers comes in a variety of flavors like Savory, Honey BBQ, Sweet Chilli, … They retail for 5.99 for a 20 oz kit that feeds four. Less than four fast food servings of something possibly unrecognizable! And so easy I’m pretty sure my daughter-who-doesn’t-cook could make them.
Gold’n Plump sources humanely raised chicken from family farms. I previously enjoyed their flavored chicken patties and am happy to say that these chicken shakers continue the tradition. Easy, tasty, no guilt. I’m stocking up for the holidays.
Or maybe just for life.
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!
