Why does winter always make me think of my skin?  And personal care.  Could it be that winter’s when your body needs the attention the most?

Well, my body was lucky to get to spend a few days in Florida last weekend.  It was such a welcome break!  It was good for my attitude and – bonus(!) my skin.

Hmm, what can I do to keep this feeling?  Perhaps a nice body oil or natural lip balm?

Of course, I am major picky about using good natural products.   I remember when I first discovered the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep database and rating system.  My lip balm came out so high I almost fainted!  And then I learned some lipsticks even contain lead (per the FDA)!  

Products were flying into garbage cans right and left. 

Since then I use a lot of products made by small companies. I love the natural goodness, the variety and supporting small businesses! A favorite is Beessential which I reviewed a couple years ago. I drop their lip balms into my kids’ Christmas stockings every year. This year I picked up an extra 5-pack for one lucky reader.  ‘Cause who wouldn’t want soft lips for Valentine’s day 🙂.

    I like how it is much colder in the winter because at my age, I am always hot, wearing shorts around the house all, the time and only sweatshirts out, lol also love when it snows, just not how long it lasts in NH. And lip balm would definitely help with the cold out here and one would say I’m obsessed with lip balms. Thanks for this chance

    The best thing about winter is that it is not in the 90-100 degrees outside anymore and you can go outside and just stay nice and cool.

    I’m actually not a big fan of winter. However, what I do like is that my husband and I can typically travel to most places (as long as they aren’t ski areas) in the wintertime without the crowds that can be present at other times of the year. Love that! And as a result, I often take most of my vacation time in the winter now.

    I love the look of the trees with all of the snow covering the branches! I love enjoying a hot cup of cocoa on a cold winter day. I love the adorable boots I get to wear! LOL!

    What I like best about winter is that I moved to Florida so that I don’t have to deal with the cold weather. After years in Michigan and Virginia – I enjoy the warm winters.

    One thing I love about winter is having the fireplace going. It’s childhood memories, but sadly we don’t have a fireplace right now. B ut also being able to drink hot chocolate without anyone looking at you crazy cos you’re drinking hot chocolate in the hot humid summer days, lol.

    I like the cold. I know most people don’t – but I hate the heat of summer. Plus summer means allergies – which are so much less annoying during winter.

    I like the beauty of it. The gently falling snow, the branches arching under the ice that crystallizes them, and the tracks of wildlife painting a picture across the vast, empty canvas of whiteness before us. Oh yeah, and I like that the beauty of winter can bring out the poet in anyone, haha! 😉

    To be honest, I don’t like winter at all. I see in your pictures you are at the beach. My cats don’t like the winter either. My car also hates it.
