CSA Harvest Party
To cook or to write, write or cook… It’s a tough question indeed!
To party or to write… Not tough at all!
Every year, Rare Earth Farm, one of my CSAs, throws a harvest party. It is (usually) on a beautiful fall day–the kind that beckons you to come to the country. If that isn’t enough there are pumpkins to carve, foods to taste, fields to room, and old friends to meet up with.
I meant to do a (real) blog post, but went to the party instead. If I share the pictures, perhaps you will understand?

What a lovely party! And you took so many wonderful pictures. Thank you.
Thanks Kathy!
It looks like a wonderful time.
This is a no-miss event for us!
LOVE the vomiting pumpkin. Funny!
I was hoping people would think that was cute rather than take offense 😉
I love these photos! Looks like it was a wonderful CSA party and makes me miss my Wisconsin CSA. Hopefully my new Florida one is good too!
I can’t wait to hear what you do with some of the different local foods you will be getting! My other CSA brings up oranges in December for special order, so if you have any great ideas…
This is the perfect example of that wise saying; a picture is worth a thousand words. There are literally tons of reasons to love this post. That pumpkin expressing “disgust” was the kicker!
Thank you so much for sharing, Inger. It looks like a wonderful time was had by all!!!
Even my teenage daughter was happy to come to this–guess that’s the mark of a really good family event!
i LOVE potlucks, especially when my family is involved–they’re some good cooks! and i haven’t carved a pumpkin in years!
This event always has great food Grace. I think everyone is trying to show off what they did with the harvest;-) My daughter carved her pumpkin but I took my pumpkin home uncarved, and I’m hoping it will last until Thanksgiving!
Love your photos. What a gorgeous post!
Thanks Beth–it was a fun event!
Thanks for giving this Florida girl a taste of fall! Wonderful pics!
Thanks Barbara. You know one of my friends just moved to Florida and I can’t wait to hear who she converts to local citrus, etc.
What a fantastic party! You did a great job photojournaling it! 🙂
Thanks Lynn!
