Mushroom Beef Burger
Flavored with lots of chopped mushrooms, plus onions and more, this mushroom beef burger is a healthy and tasty grilling alternative.
This week it’s officially grilling season. Times two. As in, don’t even think about asking me to turn on the oven.
So I was excited to have this new recipe for Mushroom Beef Burgers. Besides being great for grilling, I am always happy to find a way to lighten up my foods.
Not that something this thick and decadent seems light.
And have you heard the recent buzz about mushrooms? According to the New York Times, “Eating mushrooms may reduce the risk for mild cognitive impairment, or M.C.I., a type of memory impairment that is often a precursor of Alzheimer’s disease.”
I actually wrote figure out how to eat more mushrooms on my “to do” list!
My husband, who is one of the world’s biggest mushroom lovers, was already in heaven.
Pretty good win for a “don’t wanna’ cook” day!

This is such a moist and delicious blended burger!! I’m a mushroom burger fan. I can’t wait to try this one.
I hope you enjoy Christie!
huh! I’ve never put anything in a meat/beef burger. maybe because my husband’s the big meat eater, and he’s a purist when it comes to his burger. But I do put lots of goodies in meat loaf. And next time I’ll use your ideas!
Nothing ventured,… right Mimi!
Sounds like I need to eat a lot more mushrooms because hereditary is not on my side. This burger looks delicious!! Beef and mushroom are so good together!
Yes, same situation with me… We’re lucky mushrooms taste good I guess.
I love the idea of adding mushrooms in the beef! I love mushrooms on my burger- it is a must, but putting them in the burger sounds even better.
I was ready to add them on top too 😉
Can’t wait to try it, Inger. The Shorewood Farmers market in summer had a great mushroom grower but I haven’t seen him this summer. I will ask to see if he is still selling.
I just did mushroom class so I hope to be growing some in a year or two!
Love beef and mushrooms! I made beef-shiitake burgers last summer and love the texture and moistness the mushrooms added – not to mention the flavor!
Sounds delicious David!
Great idea to replace some of the beef with mushrooms!
Thanks Hezzi!
I normally put mushrooms and onions on top, but mixed in sounds fabulous. Such a simple idea that adds so much flavor and texture to the burger itself.
I almost put more mushrooms on top Audrey!
Mushrooms add such a nice umami to beef! These sound totally tasty.
Thanks Karen!
So delicious. We love mushrooms, here. We are fortunate to have a mushroom grower not too far from us.
That’s lucky Terri. I get them at the winter farmer’s market but my summer market doesn’t have a grower 🙁
What a wonderful idea to incorporate the mushrooms right into the patty. Not only do you get the benefits of mushrooms but you need less meat as well.
That’s what I’m counting on Wendy!
