Don’t you love foods that can do double duty?  This recipe was inspired by the sorbet I bought for my daughter when she had her wisdom teeth out back in December of 2015.

Yes after the 43rd trip up the stairs carrying fresh ice packs, pureed soup or more sorbet, Mom wanted sorbet.  And something a little stronger.  Which led to a new drink for New Year’s Eve!

This year, the holiday season has been even more stressful.  So I decided to update and re-post! Need a drink that is festive and easy? Try a sorbet and champagne cocktail. Color match to your occasion or just pick your favorite flavor!

What Makes This a Winner

There’s so much I like about this sorbet and champagne cocktail. It’s:

Super Easy.  I’ve seem some lovely Champagne cocktails.  Cook fresh fruit into a puree, strain, add cream, mix with Champagne.  But with a quality sorbet you get pretty much the same thing (other than local) but it takes, um, no work.

The taste is wonderful.  I can only describe this as bright, fresh and sparkling.  Is there a better feeling when you’re celebrating the New Year?  Or another festive occasion!

Versatile.  Go pink for Valentine’s Day.  For a baby shower, Mom can have hers with flavored fizzy water and you can use pink and blue sorbets.  Or go wild and pick your favorite flavor whether it matches your theme or not!

Budget Option.  With the flavor boost from the sorbet, you can go with a less expensive champagne or Prosecco!

this is like an elegant version of my grandma’s favorite punch recipe. you know the one, right, with ginger ale and sherbet, popular at showers and parties and such? this is much more my style. 🙂
