Creamy Horseradish Sauce
Creamy Horseradish Sauce is an easy and tasty accompaniment for poultry, meats or vegetables. Spice up your life today!

There’s a local restaurant we enjoy that does an amazing Easter brunch. And among the many small touches that help define the event, is the inclusion of some beautiful sauces at the carving station.
Yes, there’s nothing like having to decide between a rich Bernaise and a zippy mustard sauce to fill a foodie’s heart with joy.
And while I haven’t seen horseradish sauce there, it’s another lovely possibility. And probably better suited to home dining since it’s so very easy to make!

This all came in handy recently when I found a large, old-ish, round steak, hidden in the depths of my freezer. Now normally I love to turn my round steak into Sicilian Steak. But with traces of freezer burn, I wasn’t going to do any extra work.
I grilled it up and it was… okay. Until we dipped it in the new Horseradish sauce. The eye-popping flavor transformed a formerly plain piece of meat–and my husband and I gladly devoured every morsel!
Now happily, horseradish sauce is delicious with vegetables too. You see right now there’s a whole lot of CSA cabbage starting to age in my garage refrigerator. And it’s suddenly looking a whole lot more exciting!

Tips & FAQs
I decided to use yogurt in this rather than the sour cream you find in most recipes. It’s healthier, plus it’s an ingredient that I always have on hand.
I used my homemade yogurt which is nice and thick, but a good Greek or other thick yogurt will work as well. But you can use sour cream if you prefer.
Some people may fine that this has more kick then they like, especially if you taste it while preparing it. You can, of course, always add additional yogurt and/or mayonnaise to reduce the bite. But I encourage you to taste with the intended dish, since that will dampen the punch.
