Avocado Toast with Everything Bagel Seasoning
Creamy and savory, Avocado Toast is especially tasty with Everything Bagel Seasoning. Perfect for a quick breakfast, lunch or snack.

I love Everything Bagel Seasoning. The flavorful combo of seeds and herbs adds a crunchy accent to foods from bagels to sandwiches. And, well, it just makes my taste buds happy.
So the deck was probably stacked the first time I had Avocado Toast. The café topped it with a generous sprinkle of the seasoning–and I was hooked.
Now recently I read about people counting avocado as a serving of vegetables. I asked my dietitian sister about this and she said they count it as a fat exchange for diabetes but it does have some good fiber and nutrients.
So I tell myself that, while Avocado might or might not count as a vegetable serving, it is healthier than topping your bread with butter. And it’s maybe even taster!

Why You’ll Love This!
Flavorful. Avocado is rich and tasty in the first place. Add some Everything Bagel Seasoning and it’s over the top good!
Easy. Just toast a slice of bread (or equivalent), mash some avocado and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning. Add additional toppings if you’d like. Or not for the easiest breakfast ever.
Fun. Bored with the usual granola or overnight oats? This will add a touch of fun!

Step by Step Overview
Mix the everything bagel seasonings together.

Toast the bread.
Mash the avocado.

Spread on the toast.

Top with mixed everything bagel seasoning to taste.

Optionally add any toppings that you’d like (or not). But if you do, consider another quick seasoning sprinkle.

Variations
Optional toppings. I usually top my avocado toast with a fried egg for the extra protein—plus then it feels like “real” breakfast. But there are lots more toppings you can add (or set out for guests if you’re serving as part of a brunch.
Tomatoes are something I love, and carrot or zucchini ribbons work well too. I’ve also seen people add fresh salsa, prosciutto, smoked salmon/lox, bacon crumbles and feta. Really the sky’s the limit!
Bread Selection. I happened to have a loaf of everything bagel sourdough when I photographed this—how luck was that! An artisan bread is always nice but really anything will do from sandwich bread to rye bagels (seriously those were great).
Just pay attention to the bread size in case you’re serving some light eaters. Or cut a few slices in half if you use a very large artisan loaf.

Tips & FAQs
So, true confessions… I love to use identical measures of seasonings when it works out. Which is how all the ingredients in my Everything Bagel Seasoning (except the salt) ended up as a Tablespoon. Store the extras in an airtight container. ‘Cause you’re going to want to make this again!
I wash and save nicer glass jars in various sizes from tiny individual jam jars to octagon shaped fancy condiment containers. These come in handy so many times. Like when I make up my own spice blends!
